Avxss the conolueion of the case of Clark T$ H. 15. Campbell in the Warden's Court to* day, a lively scene occurred outside the Codrfc between Mr H. B. Campbell and Mr D. H. Bayldon, surveyor. Mr Bayldon had been a witne?s in the suit, and evidently bis testimony did not please Mr Campbell, who abused him unsparingly, to the intense delight of an amused crowd. Mr Bayldon has summoned him for using language calculated to provoke a breach of the peace, viz., " You're a dishonest man, and a liar." The case comes before the Court to-morrow. V

A sxbangb accident occurred at the Albion quartz mine, Paparoa Range, 0/reymouth, yesterday, in whicbk one man got severely bnrmd about the face and neck. On two other men going into the tunnel in the morning, a quantity of gas exploded on contact with their lighted candle 3. The explosion knocked both men down, but one of them, who had some experience of the gas, threw himself flat and escaped injury. This is the first instance kaown there of the existence of such gas in quartz mines.

On Friday last an accident occurred at Ship Cove, Queen Charlotte Sound, by which a man named James Boon, aged, 44,.105t his life. In the afternoon, Messrs Russell and Boon, md two sons of the .latter,, left Ship Cove in a boat for Long Island. They hai not proceeded far when the boat was struck by a squall, and filled and turned fver. All succeeded in geining the bottom of the boit, which immediately rolled over again. Young Boon, seeing his brother was unable to swim, swam off and gnspe'd him by the collar of his jacket, and swam back only to be washed off again. This happened three times. He never lost the 'grasp of hi» brother, and succeeded in saving his life. The men on the schooner Wave of Life, lying in the cove, saw the accident, but owing to the strong wind and high sea did not reach the spot for folly half en hour, by which time Jas. Boon, the father of the boys, became exhausted, and sank. Deceased leaves nine orphans totally unprovided for. "''*'■•

The two boys McOoid and Harvey, missing since Thursday last, turned up all right this morning. They have been lying in Wilson's Bay, which it is now known , they made for when the bad weather came on. McCoid has a sister living there, so they have not been exposed to the weather. Credit is due to Mr Rolton and mates for the prompt manner in which they went to look for the lads.
