Gilmour's shop was broken into about two o'clock yesterday morning, the burglar opening the front shutters and then raising the window. The family, who live at the rear of the shop, and the neighbors heard a little noise, but paid no attention to it,
It was rumored last night that the natires had taken Newton's wife and children from Baglan, and stolen his cart and other property as utu for Newton giving evidence against Winiata. The rumor is not yet confirmed. The late Archdeacon Lush was buried yesterday. The chief mourners were the deceased's family. The most of the clergy and many members of the Diocesan Synod were present. Amongst the Masonic brotherhood present were : Messrs Ehrenfried, E. K. Tyler, Major General Gossett, and G. P. Pierce. The Bishop and the Re?v B. T. Dudley conducted the funeral ser»ice. H.I.M.S. Carola sails for the Islands on Monday. Winiata Sentenced to Death. Winiata has been found guilty, and sentenced to death. The Nelson sails to-morrow for Eussell where she takes in 800 tons of coal. She then returns here. 22 deserters are 3till at large here.
