Thames Goldfield Hospital.

The monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held yesterday. Key Father O'Reilly presided. Upon reference to the minute book it was found there were two vacancies, one arising from the resignation of Mr J. Hudson, and the other through Mr W. McOuUoutfh, having become disqualified through non attendance. It was resolved that the number of the Committee be increased to 20, three to be appointed by the Borough Council, and 14 by the subscribers. The' Financial Statement showed receipts : From Government of £209 8s; subscriptions and donations, £2 0s 8i; patients' charges. £14 ss; garden, 15s 7d; and Bank, £306 15s. Total, £533 4i 3d. —The Expenditure: By Bank overdraft, May 31st, £375 16a 2d; salaries, £69 15a lOd; maintenance, £43 7s 3d; medical comforts, £10 7s; furniture £4 8j 9d; repairs, £17 lls 6d ; drugs and appliances, £6 2s 3d; miscellaneous, £5 12s 6J. Total, £533 4s 3d. It was resolved that the. Secretary furnish a return at next meeting of all liquors used during the past twelve months ending 30tli June. , The Surgeon's Report stated that on the 31st May there were 16 patients in the Hospital. During June one old man had succumbed to exhaustion ; 25 ■■ patients had been treated, and of these 14 now remain. The attendance of out-patients had been 119, while the total number was 52. Dr Huxtable wrote, complaining:of Dr Payne forwarding the following note, which he said was the last of a series of similar productions:—"Mrs Roberts requests the favor of Dr HuxtableV extensive experience at 11.30 this morning in the Thames Hospital.—Martin H. Payne.—June 21, 1882."—The matter was referred to the House Committee. On the 3rd instant Mr Dean wro%6 that by direction of the Charitable Aid Committee, empowered by the Borough Council, he placed in the hands of the Hospital Committee the interest of the Borough Council in the Fever Hospital, and informed the President that the grant of £150 was available for improving the building or its furniture—that sum having been offered by Government for the purpose. Revs. W. Calder and S. J. ISeill, and Messrs R. Comer and E. Noonaa/were appointed a House Committee for the ensning month.
