A REJOINDER.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—l see by last night's Stab that the Rev. T. L. Davies denies haying j-aid on Sunday evening, as.was reported in the Stab of Monday night, that "when ever a doctrine was almost universally received, his hearers might be confident it was true." As the writer of the paragraph in which he is reported to have made use of the above sentence, I again asgeri.that the rev. gentleman either used the words quoted, or else others convey ing exactly the same meaning. Perhaps he did not mean exactly what the words he used infer, but he certainly made use of the words themselves. Had I been the only one who noticed the remark, I . womld withdraw it, but .1 could point to half a dozen at least who noticed it, and who were surprised to find Mr Davies I. using >uch an argument.—l am, &c, , - . - ■ C.
