, A rumor comes from Ahaura that a Chinaman in the Moonlight district is suffering from rariola, but the report wants verifying. An enormous blast was fired in the lower harbor works quarry yesterday, The charge consisted of three tons of dynamite, and the estimated quantity of rock dislodged is 60,000 tons, consisting in a great measure of masses of rock of from ten to fifty tons and heavier. The concussion was felt all through the town and outskirts. The blast was most successful, and it will take many months to clear the stone away.
