It is announced that the following gentlemen have been appointed members of the Legislative Council of New South Wales: —Messrs Sutherland, Brodribb, Webb, Terry, Alderson, Joseph Cadell, Mort, Macintosh, Suttor, Lee, Bundle, and Roberts. The second grand banquet was held in honor of Sir Henry Parkes last night, when over 200 persons were present, aad the affair was a great success. It is announced that Sir John Sobertson returns to the Ministry as Secretary for Lands vice Mr James Hoskins, and that he will perform the duties of Colonial Secretary in the absence of Sir Henry Farkes.
