NOTICE UNDER SECTIONS 41 AND' 84 OF THE GOLD MINING DISTRICTS ACT, 1873. APPLICATION FOR A WATER RACE. Warden's Office, Thames, 21st December, 1881. \ PPLICATION has been made to me by l\. Edwabd Man Cobbeti 1 for a licence t > construct a water race for mining purposes, commencing at a point in the No. 2 branch of the Waiteka-jri Creek at the dam, and terminating at the main race, as shown on plan.. The length of such ra jis about one iumdred yards, and its intended course is from weßt to east. The mean breadth and depth of such race is eighteen inches by twelve inches j it is capable of carrjiug two sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is two. Notice is there'ore given that on the fifth day of January, 1882, a license will be granted to the above-named Edward Man Corbett for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this office not lees than seven clear days before that date.
