It is announced that the Hon. James Hoskins intends to visit England, and has consequently resigned the porfolio of Minister of Lands. Melboubne, Friday. Sailed, this afternoon: The Union Company's steamship Botorua, for the Bluff.
The cricket match between the English Team and the eleven of Victoria was commenced today. The weather was very fine, and a capital wicket was pitched, the ground being in good order. The Victorians went in first, and when stumps were drawn for. the day had put together 247 runs for a loss of 8 (sic.) ; Macdonald made 51 and Blackhnm 66. The bowling and fielding of the Englishmen were much admired.
