KAUAERANGA GIRL' SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes took place this afternoon at 3 o'clock, His Worship the Mayor presiding. The school was tastefully decorated with flowers and evergreens. The prizes given were for tha highest aggregate number of marks obtained during the year, and it will therefore be seen that those who have been successful fully, deserve their . prizes, as they have no doubt had to sacrifice many an evening's enjoyment in order to do their home lessons. One young lady, Miss Charlotte Murrish, successfully passed the 6th standard in June last; this young lady has also the highest marks in the school. The work for the special prizes was examined by persons not belonging to the school.
