Yesterday. At Mr Clark's meeting to-night a number of Sir George Grey's lambs kept the entrance to the meeting, and a scene of the utmost confusion resulted. The attempt to deliver the address had, after several attempts, to be given up, so great was the uproar and confusion. It was one of the most unruly meetings ever held in Auckland. WELLINGTON. ": Yesterday. There are 54 candidates in 18 contested Canterbury elections. Of the local constituencies Stanmore and Lyfctelton are the only ones in which there is any abnormal excitement.
