The Evening Star. PUBLISHED DAILY AT FOUR P.M. Resurrexi. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1881.
The people on the Thames—or a majority of them—will be pleased to hear that Mr Sheeban's committe, from a careful analysis of the electoral roll hare come to the conclusion that their candidate on Friday will be returned by a substantial majority. A very curious condition of affairs must have existed in the Borough could any other result hare been anticipated. While the Legislature is constituted as at present, electors have to be mainly influenced by the consideration what a candidate can do for them ; not what he is willing to try to have done* While complimenting the Thames people on their display of common sense we have only one thing to say.. Take care that Mr Sheehan's majority is as large as possible. Let not a vote be unrecorded.
