; CALEDONIAN. The No. 1 reef in the stopes at No. 1 level was again broken down this morning, and a large parcel (about 1501bs) of specimens and picked stone bagged. The parcel obtained yesterday weighed over 601bs, and not about 40 as reported in last 1 evening's issue. The show of gold in the face is very good, and' may be traced both on the hanging and footwall for some distance, the show on the hanging wall portion bting very good. The reef is a fine body of quartz, and is fully four feet in thickness in places. It contains a large per centage of silvery mundic and copper, and also some iron pyrites. There is now a good supply of quartz from here in the hoppers. The reef in the face of the drive is now fully three feet thick and is a nice looking body of quartz, well mineralised, and showing colors of gold occasionally. At the time of my visit this morning, the men were engaged breaking down the reef, which has been stripped for about five or I six feet. The men are still engaged cleaning out and renovating Captain Richards' drive from the rise on th© hangingwall of No. 2 reef. „.«,■ ',y:,. . • CURE. : >-v. The manager has started two men to drive from No. 1 level for Brownlee's lead, and the face is now in about six or eight feet.
