.Warden's Office, Thames, 22nd November, 1881. A PPLICATxON has been made by SAMiJBI. XJL C'cchbaneMackt for permission to tonstruct a water race for nrning purposes, commencing at a point on the Young New Zealand creek, thence to a point on the Mangakaru creek, and terminating at a point above Wick's head racs, as shown on plan to be lodged. The length of such race is half a mile or thereabouts. The .mean breadth and depth of BUch race is two fret by one foot; it is capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each, which it is intended to appropriate n two. „.■..' Notice is therefore given that on the DineIcenth day of December, 1881, a l;cenee will be granted to tha above named Samuel Cochrane Macky for the said water race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in Wiltiug end lodged at this Office, not less than seven clear days before that date. , Haebt Kukbick, Warden.

HAURAKI GOLD MINING DISTRICT. NOTICE UNDER SECTIONS 41 AND 84 OF THE GOLD MINING DISTRICTS ACT, 1873. APPLICATION FOR A WATER RACE.

A PPLIOATION has been made by Joshua xjL Cuff for permission to construct a water race for mining purposes commencing at a point on Walmslej's creek, Waibi, where Messrs Bayldon and Crump commeaced their survey for the Martha Company, thence running along the surveyed water race to the Martha battery site, at the commencement of his other application for a water race, and terminating at the last mentioned point as shown on plan to be deposited. The length of such race it about two miles and sixty chains, and its intended coarse is southerly. The mettn breadth and depth of such race is three feet by one foot six inches; it is cap >ble of carrying six sluice heads of, water, and the ! number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is propoied to appropriate is six. Notice is therefore given that on the nineteenth day of December, 1881, a license will be granted to the above named Joshua Cuff for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date.
