The Election for the Civic Chair.
The nomination for the office of Mayor of the Borough of Thames took place today. The utmost apathy existed as to the result—this being probably caused by the extreme interest evinced in the General Election. There was only one gentleman nominated, Mr W. Wilkinson, (the present Mayor) and he will consequently be the occupant of the Civic Chair for the ensuing twelve months. Mr Davies was the returning officer.
