RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT

THIS BAY. (Before T. L. Murray and L. Ehrenfried Esqrs., J'b.P.) HOBBB STEALING. Arama Earaka, an aboriginal native, was charged with stealing a horse, the property of Mr John Gwynneth, of Cambridge. Mr Brassey appeared for the prisoner, and asked for bail. The Court refused the request, and remanded the prisoner to Cambridge, where the theft took place. WHIBKEYOLOGUBT. A devotee of the Jovial Jupiter of Excessive Festivity was fined 10s and costs for meandering gracefully in the public street.

(Before Dr Kilgour and T. L. Murray, Esqrg., J.'sP.) LA.BCENT. Edward Hogan (a lad) was charged with stealing 3a from the till of the Prince Imperial Hotel, the Baid money being the property of Mr Barty, the proprietor, on the 21st inst. A Constable deposed that the money was stolen this morning, and from information received he apprehended the prisoner. The Court decided that the offence had been proved, and sentenced the prisoner to 14 days' imprisonment. Court adjourned. Court adjourned.
