WELLINGTON.
This day. Issue of the Writs. The whole of the writs were issued last night, and they are returnable by the 19th of December. Friday Hie 9th of December, has been fixed for the general polling day. A supplement to the Gazette notifies the issue of the writs, appoints polling places, and culls Parliament together for the 22ud December. It is not, however, called for the despatch of business. The Hinemoa arrived from Opunake this morniug with (he Hon. Mr Rolleston, the Hon. Major Baillie, and Volunteer, Peters, of the Carterton Rifles, who injured his hip joint during some games in camp;' a comrade accompanies '.he latter. Major Bailie was invalided by Dr Diver through suffering from slight attack of bronchitis, and was ordered to return home. Peters was taken to the hospital here.
