As a remedy of general utility, we much question whetfrer a belter is imported into the country, and we ehall be glad to hear of its finding a place in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, we are bappy to say, are now relegated to ifae native bazaars, and, judging from their salp, we fancy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances ad infinitum of the extraordinary efficacy of Db.' Collis Bhowne's ChIiOHODYNB in Diarrhcei and Dysentery, Spaaing, Cramp?, Neuralgia, the Vomiting of Pregnancy, and as a general sedative, that have occurred under our personal observation during many yeara. In Choleraic Diarrhoea, and even in the more terrible forma of Cholera itself, we have witnessed its surprisingly controlling power. Wo have never used any other form of this medicine than Collis Browne's, from a firm conviction that it is decidedly the best, tfnd also from a eenee of duly we owe to the profession und the public, as we are of opinion t that the suteiitulicn of any other than Collis Browne's ie a dkmbbbaxi BREACH OF PAITU ON THE JPAET 01? The value of this veil known Family Medicine has been largely Seated in all parts of the world, and by all grades of society, for up wards of FIFTY YEARS. Its well-earned extensive sale has induced SPURIOUS IMITATIONS, some of which in OUTWARD APPEARANCE so closely resemble the original as to have deceived mauy purchasers. On Goat. ; On Rheumatism. In theee colonies those excesses which we have indu'.ged in " hot youth " toll upon us with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our repining futile. The sole idea should be the chance we possess of remedying the ills wo already have, for combatting the effects likely to rosult. Hide it as he may, put on aa good an exterior as he can,'still is the victim conscious that he is a living lie, and that sooner or later his vices will discover him to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, tho welfare of our future offspring, and the duty, wo owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, 'not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk; bafore employing a barrister, a careful man makes enquiries as thsir standing, their length of occupancy or residence; and, in the cUse of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults him upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of medical man, the sufferer frequently omits those necessary precautions and without regard to the fitness, qualification, experience and ability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, he consults the nearest mane whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite an opposite direction. Is it astonishing that so many are driven mad, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope and money ? Have I not for years pointed out to them that I, Dr L. L, \ Smith, am. the only legally qualified medical man advertising in the Colonies'! Have I not , also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selling,—such as Phosphodyne Essence of Life, &c—and had them analysed and found them to consist of "Burnt Sugar and flavoring matter," and the certificates \ have VROYBD to be all forgeries. It is for, this reaßon that I step out of the ethics of the profession and advertise, to give those who require tho services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a.legally qualified man, and, one> moreover, who has ' made this his especial study. ; i Dr L.
