The compilation of the present Thames and Coromandel Bolls reflects credit on the zeal and ability of the Registrar, A. J. Alloin, Esq. The old roll for the Thames district, which included Coromandel and a portion of the Tauranga electorate, had a total of 2610 names from a population of about 12,000, or, roughly speaking, one elector to every 4-jV of the population. There now stands on the new roll for the Thames 14.01. For Coromandel 1883, about 300 Thames electors being added to the Tauranga roll. The present roll for the Thames from a population of 5,500 gives a proportion ol one, voter to every 3| of the population. Such a result shows that even allowing for a fair deduction of those who may be enrolled, but who have left this district. or are otherwise disqualified, there must be enrolled almost every one who is entitled to vote, and should anyone fiud his name not on the present roll the fault must lie with himself, and not the Registrar.
