CALEDONIAN.

The manager reports as follows on the 7th instant:—"Bast drive No. 1 level , has been driven 12 feet this week; - the- ! reef opened out to fully 3 feet in thickness, and on Wednesday last I got 151 bs of good picked stone, and the following day 2Olbs. There has been none,since, f but good strong colors showing. A small slide or break crossing the reef disturbed, its course for the last three feet, but it is' ' now making again towards the hanging-, . r wall, with the same goodindication*. .If, "" any change, will communicate at once. ' I have cleaned out the rise 90 feet, but the air is so bad I have to put up air-boxes. The Cure company has seat men to help . cleaning it through to their old level, which is 30 feet more, and when done will ;■? give good ventilation for both companies. The rise will require . timberiog when cleaned out, the old timbers being all rotten and mostly broken down. .
