At Flemingtou today it was the fourth day of the Victoria Racine Club's Spring Meeting. Steeplechase (3 miles) won by J. Cuningham's Prima Donna; J. Mor mon's Trumpeter, 2; N. Webb's Himalaya, 3. Eleven horses started for the race, and Prima Donna won easily in 7 minutes 4 seconds.

Canterbury Plate, two and a quarter miles :—O. G. Baldock's Wellinjjton, 1; T. Ivor's Sweetmeat, 2; D. McPherson's Santa Claus, 3. Woodlands and Royal Maid also started. The race concluded with a splendid finish between Wellington and Sweetmeat; time, 4 minutes 8 seconds. -

Thorpe, late teller of the Bank of Victoria, was to day sentenced to two years' imprisonment for embezzlement; but was recommended by the jury to.mercy on account of the great laxity which had prevailed in thp conduct of the bank's business. . ,
