I will endeavor to have a fair share of the revenue of the colony expended in the Ohinemuri district, and especial attention paid to the' construction of the main or trunk Hues of road"-a matter of the greatest consequence' to the ratepayers. lam in favor of the Gold -Duty being expended in the district that produces the gold from which it is received. I am in favor of having all works done by bona fide contractors and all over* lookers and bosses discharged. I am in favor of the Engineering being tendered for and paid by commission, and if assistants are required, the engineer in* charge to pay such. I also pledge myself to use my best endeavours, if returned, to give to all the pioneer settlers assistance in having roads made ; the first to come should be the first to be served. My interests in matters Agricultural and Mining are identical with your'own, and if I am returned my best services are at your disposal.
