Thames Goldfield Hospital.

The usual monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held last night in the Borough Chambers. Present — Vice-President (the Bey. P. O'Reilly) in the chair ; the Revs. V. Lush and S. J. Neil], and JVlessrs Ahier, Coraes,' Ehrenfried, Prater, MeCullough, McG-owan, Mcllhone, Marshall, Mulligan, Radford, Meunie, and Veale. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed ; after which tbe Surgeon's and House Committee's reports were read. In the latter repogt it was stated that the monthly accounts showed a total of £140 4s Bd. The Treasurer's report was as follows;— Receipts : To subscriptions, £7 ; patients' charges, £3 4s 6d; Bank of New Zealand overdraft to 31st October, £314 2s lOd ; total, £324 7s 4d. Expenditure :— By Bank overdraft, 30th Sept., £209 9s 5d ; salaries, £61 2s; maintenance, £36 Os lOd; medical comforts, £9 8s; drugs, £3 17s; furniture, £5 Is 9d ; clothing, 7s lOd ; garden, 15s 6d ; commission, ss; total, £324 7s 4d. Assets : Amount due from Government for September quarter, applied for, £324 7s 4d. Liabilities: Salaries, £66 7s; tradesmen^' accounts, £73 17d Sd ; balance, £184 2s 8d ; total, £324 7s 4d. The report was received and adopted.—Upon the motion of Mr Prater, it was resolved to hold future meetings of the Committee in tbe large room of the Old Men's Eefuge at the hour of four o'clock in the afternoon.—Several members referred to a late fatal case in the' Hospital iv. which no intimation had been sent to the clergy or the friends of the sick man, although the doctors had pronounced the case hopeless. The Secretary was instructed to give instructions to the officials of the Hospital for future guidance.—A letter received from Mr P. C. Dean relative to the admission of a patient to the Old Men's Refuge was referred to the House Committee.—A vote of thanks, upon the motion of Mr Veale was passed to Mr Buckland of the Salutation Hotel for the use of his room to the Committee, and the usual sum of two guineas was also voted. The following gentlemen were appointed the House Committee: The Rev. V. Lush, Messrs W. McCullough, M. Mulligan, T. L. Murray. ■
