London, October 29. Arrests of prominent agitators continue to be made in Ireland under the Viceroy's warrant; among those recently placed in custody is Rev. MeHale, a Catholic priest.

Pabis, October 29. ' Gambetta, President of the Chamber of Deputies, had an interview to day with President GreWy, but no particulars of the meeting have yet transpired. Berlin, October 29. The elections ta the German Eeichstag have resulted unfavorably for the Government, which has now no working majority in Parliament. Among the defeated Ministerial candidates was the son of Prince Bismarck. There has been a large increase iv the number of Socialist candidates elected to the Eeichstag. Batayia, October 31.
An epidemic of cholera has broken out in Java and is raging in many parts of the island. Several deaths have already resulted from the disease.
