Telegrams are to hand from Tunis announcing that the French expeditionary force despatched against the Arabs at Xairwan has reached that place, and occupied it without opposition. It was found that the rebels had previously pillaged the t..wn, and then retreated to the South.
The newly elected Chamber of Deputies met to day for the firs*; time, and M. Gambetta was again elected President, pending the verification of the election returns.
