OUR MINES.
,^OLD GOLDEN CALF.
The manager reports as follows:—The crashing is turning out muoh better than last month's, I think it will be about an ounce to the load, but it is more difficult to get the quantity of quartz. At our last directors' meeting, I thought I would be able to work the Young American reef, but I found it would bo impossible to work if, to advantage nnd work the present one, so I thought, it was batter for me to work on the gold and follow it till we gel what we always expected—a patch—for it is improving as we rise on it, and the gold seems to extend more along the reef. We get a few pounds of picked stone nearly every day. I believe I will be able to clear all working expenses this month, and I hope I will be able to do better next month. I should like very much if Mr Peacock were coming down, if he would call and see our workings.—Konald McDonald.
