The reef in the east drive at ;No. 1 has not been broken down lately, the men being engaged in timbering. This was completed ..yesterday, and the drive will now be advanced about 30 feet. The trial parcel from the No. 1 reef will probably be crushed at the latter end of the week.- Cleaning out the drive put in on the lead-running in the direction of tn"e Golden Crown has been completed, solid country having been met with. Driving was started on Monday, but though the lead, which is about four ! inches thick here, looks promising, no gold has been seen. A number of droppers from it have been met with in driving.
