Latest Coromandel Mining.

rFfiOM THE CoBOMANDEL MAIL.]

Thexjsh.—We have extended the level 7 feet 6 inches this week. Total distance now driven is 10 feet 6 inches, 45 feet more will bring us up to bur boundary. There is little or no change in the ground or leader since my last report. I have been following up a trial of gold on the surface, and have traced it up to the leader about 30 feet south of where-we first cut the leader in the level. I can get a very pood prospect of loose gold in the leader, have not seen any in the stone ; but as a rule, if they get loose gold in the Colonial, they are not far away from specimens. I hope it may prove so in our case.—Henry Thode.

Golden Spub have completed laying down 200 feet tramway, and a contract has been let at 25s a foot to carry on the main crosscut through the hard bar.

Union Beach.—Daniels, the tributer, is very unwell, but work is proceeding as usual. The winze is down 19 feet, aud gold visible tha whole distance. A parcel of two tons is being crushed at the Cor by battery. Hope are driving ou both levels; aud getting good gold in the lower one.

Baubket's (Tiki). —ltoad level: I have driven 5 feet on the hanging wall leader, through still' couuLry. The leader is split up, stringers of quartz showing all over the face. No. 2 leader (near Matawai boundary) : I started a drive last Saturday, and it is now in 9 feet. The leader has increased considerably, and is now from 12 inches to 15 inches in width. Saw a few stones showing colors of gold last Friday. On breaking down leader to-day, gold showed in several stones, but nothing worth saving for picked stone. The drive will have to be extended 12 feet further, to get under where I first got gold in this leader on the surface.—C. H. Bennett, October 10th.

Tiernan's. — Since my last report, there is not much change in the mine. The main drive is in 53 feet. The reef in the face is 2 feet 6 inches thick, but showing no gold yet. Higher up I found another leader about 1 foot. Obtained a few pounds of stone from it showing coarse gold freely. I am putting in a drive to cut it, about 12 feet from the ciop, to test its value. The result of the crushing is 1350zs 15dwts melted gold.— James Mubbay, October 12th.
