WAIHI.
The directors of the Waiui and .Young " Colonial companies at Waihi hare bad, during the past few days several meetings in Auckland, the result being that an; " understanding has been arrived at in the' matter of battery accommodation for the mines; The arrangement made provides that the Waihi company disposes of one* half interest in the battery now being erected by Mr H. Adams to the Young Colonial, and will also connect the latter mine by tramway with the main tram nay leading to the battery, the consideration being 6000 shares in the Young Colonial. The Auckland people appear to have considerable faith in the Waihi mines, even more than that shown by Thames people. Mr A. Porter^ has been mainly . instrumental in bringing about the agree* ment referred to above.
