FOUND AT LAST.
(To the Editor of the Evening Stab.) B.egorra Misther Edither, wasent it meaelf that was jumpin.wey joy whoa a notised a lether from " Young Barney. Sure he's me ful cousin, by the mothers side';. an prude lam ov his edication. I delight in seem him followin in' the futsteps ov the owld boy, his father: he was a great lether riter entirely. Bit, me dear surj Barney's too easy on the candidates, an his youth is agin hes nolege ov etecate in the literery world; for he proceeds to expachiate on candidates that has niver declared thimselves, Its wan ov the rites of the press not to advertise a man till sich times as be declares himself in the adverlisein coloms: thats wher a man finds the independent side ov a newspaper. Win ov the candidates rins the Stars' wethoufc sthripea—the itlier has nether stars nor sthripes; but as I am anshous to see how Barney gets on I may anticipate. Aye coorse I expect im to pass the candidates far the adjouun dishtricts under revue; fur Whiteker hes started the Conty Chairman alridy. I can see the'l be a danger of the owld
man (Sir George) pying attention to districts at a distance, an losin a chnncc nearer home.—l am, <&c, Owid Babney.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—Seeing in yours of the ]Oth inst. a letter by "Bulldog," I think "Bull.dog " has said about all that can be said on the matter for reason why ininers are not quite so mad as the Moanatairi mining sharks may think. I quite agree with " 8.D," that the time has arrived to make this sharking; company man the sheep run they have managed to shark together, or else let. some one that will. Miners should not vote for any one that will not pledge himself to see the Moanatairi mining run cut up or manned. "BD." remarks about the directors being of good society. My opinion on good society : I hate the artificiality of what you call good society ; its polished hypocrisies; its gilded meanness; its unmeasurable falsehood ; its smiling hate. Give me an honest, hard working man, who speaks his mind truthfully, without caring whether tie pleases you or not; his friendship, above ail you mining sharks that are rich and deceitful.—l am, &c, Bull-Pup.
