AUCKLAND.

This day. An Anglo- Israel Association was formed here last night.

At the Civil Sessions of the Supreme Court yesterday the case Campbell r. Hosie was heard. It was an action' to recover a mining claim at Owharoa which the plaintiff' averred ho had sold to defendant on false representation. Shortly after the sale the claim became of great value. The jury found a verdict for the defendant on all issues.

It was stated at a meeting of the Waitemata County Council that Government had no Jpower to postpone the County elections to the 16th November. They had been previously fixed for the 9th, but postponed as the Prince of Wales Birthday Act prescribes only an adjournment for one day.

Mr McMinn has annouucod his candi dature for Waipa.
