Tararu Presbyterian Church Concert.

A very large audience assembled last night at the concert given' in aid of a fund for renovating the .Presbyterian Church, Tararu. The use of the public school room was obtained for the occasion. His Worship the Mayor occupied the Chair, .and, was supported by Mr W. L. Thorburn and'l the Key S. J. JSeill. The programme was a very lengthy one including song« from Misses Clarke, Hamilton, Ferguson, Browne, Mrs Payne, Mrs Mennie, and Messrs Wiseman, Catran, McLiver; '\ and Gray; < a reading from Mr Home ; a recitation from Mr Wiseman and a little girl, Miss McQuade;, a piano - duet by Misses Ferguson and Clarke; a violin solo by Mr Hunter; and piano fantasia by Miss Wilson. The audience appeared well pleased, and applauded frequently the ladies and gentlemen taking part in the concert, and a vote of thanks, was passed to them at the conclusion} : A dance, to which a great many of the young people remained, followed the concert. A large sum is anticipated from the sale of the tickets. The young gentlemen - who got up the concert deserve the thanks . of the Church Committee.
