A series of important political demonstrations have been organised, and are now being carried out at Leeds by the leading Liberals resident there and in the neighborhood.
The Hon. W. E. Gladstone . has arrived at the town, and will take part in the proceedings, and deliver addresses at the meetings to be held.
Athens,'October-7.
The members of the Commission despatched by the Sultan from Constantinople to the Khedive arrived in this city today, and were accorded a ceremonial reception.
London, October 7.
The Standard of this morning publishes a telegram from the Cape stating that a report is current there that a serious rising of the native tribes has broken out in Zululand.
