A laborer named John Hobiuson, who has been working at Jackson's, on the Christchurch road, asked the driver of a coach for a lift, and while the coach was crossing the Taipo river yesterday afternoon, lie fell out on his head, atfd was drowned before his absence was noticed The body was brought to Eumara, where an inquest will be held to-day.
