THE LAST "GOOD BYE!"
[Obighnai..]
Dry your tears, my children dear, There's no cause to weep, Do not wish to keep me here From my well-earned sleep; 1 have lived to that good age Which God allotted man, Now I'm turning o'er Life's page, The other side to scan.
lam tired—let me sleep, ■ I have lived my life, And on neither land or deep, Ever caused strife. Q-od has seat an angel hand To ease me of my load ; Would ye keep me from that land To which Death is the road.
Cease your tears then, children dear, And ..ith mo rejoice That the sound hath reached my ear Of His angel's voice. I am going now, good bye! May God bless you all! A smile, and then a deep drawn sigh— His eyelids droop and fall, S.-pt. 7tb,1881, ' —F.E.B.
