The most portable, and oue of the sweetest of all musical instrumeuls, is the flute. It is very easily learned, and never gets out of order, unless damaged through cuvelessneßß. The normal key in which the flule is set is D, others are in IT, B flat, and octave D -, the smallest in E flat and i 1 are called piccolos.
