It is proposed to form a Woolen Factory in Wellington, with a capital of £5000 in £5 shares. A large number of shares have already been taken up.
The railway engine having run off the line near Kaitoki, on two successive days, the Government have taken steps for a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Thursday,
The Premier and Colonial Treasurer left in the steamer Stellla this evening for Opunake to consult with the .Native Minister on the recent position of native affuirs. It is expected they will return to-morrow night or on Saturday morning.
Official telegrams record no change in regard to native affairs.
No communication has yet been received from Government in respect to Yoluuteer corps which offered their services to go to the. front.
The Christchurch Press states this morning that the Uou J. Hall will not seek re-election for Leeston, but offers himself for the representation of the Selwyn District.
