IT is proposed to establish a Company for the purpose of supplying a want* long felt in Auckland, both by residents and travellers, viz., a First-class FAMILY HOTEL, to be conducted on Temperance principles, in connection with which there ehall be Coffee and Refreshment Rooms. The leading features of this Company will bo to provide— Ist, A superior Hotel with the comforts of a home, from which alcoholic ■ liquors will be-excluded. 2nd. A Large Room, where Tea, Coffee, Cocoa, Lemonade, Aerated Waters, &c, can be always had, for the special benefit, of the working classes ■ at. a cheap rate, as supplied in the Coffee Palaces in England. 3rd. A Rest urant where meals of the best, quality will be serred is a clean and attractive form. 4Mi. Separate Dining-rooms for Ladies only, Ladies and Gentlemen, and Gentlemen only. ; > sth. A Billiard Room, Reading Room, and Smoking Room for social recreation. The marked puccess which has followed the establishment of what, are known as " Coffee Palaces " in England and various parts of the Colonies is well known. The abeolute neces»ity for one in this city is recognised, and the promoters confidently believe that such an institution cannot M to prove of great and immediate benefit to the community, besides being a financial success to.the Shareholders. A very eligible site in the best part of Queen-street is now under offer to the promoters on very advantageous term?, which it is desirable to secure at once. The promoters feel that in an enterprise of (his nature it is desirable to enlist the sympathy and practical support of a*l claesses. With this bbjrch in view, they propose to form the Company, with Shares at £1 each, so as to secure a large proprietary. The terms of payment are as follows :—ls per chare on application j 2s per share on allotment; and the balanc?, if required, in Calls of 2s 6d per share at intervals of,opt., less than two months. ; A meeting of Subscribers will bo convened at an early date for the JB lection of Directors, &c. - Application for Shares may be made to Messrs Milne and White, Colonial Bank Buildings, Queen street, or to any member of the " The Auckland Brokers' Association."
