AUCKLAND.
This day. It is reported that Mr Adam Porter has been asked by the leading Taurangaites to represent that constituency, and it is now stated here that Ihe Taurauga candidates, fearing an outsider mifcht slip in on the Thames River block vote, will withdraw in favor of Sheehan. If Sheehan thus elects to go for Tauranga, Brodie will have good show for Coromandel. It is said the supporters of the Hall party, taking a leaf from the Grey book, are organising a central committee, and that already a meeting has been held, convened by circular, at which letters were read from a probable candidate for a Thames district seat, and another another from a well-known opponent of the Grey party. S. Eohn is importing a mummy from the New Hebrides.
