SOUTHERN CROSS. Stoping on the big reef was stopped a few days ago, and the manager started to sink a winze on it. This is now down about 20 feet, and although the reef has decreased in size, it continues to give a good supply of payajble quartz. The manager is also taking out the hangingwall leader, which is about three inches thick. Stoping on the cross leader is being continued, but the quartz coming to hand from here is rather poor. In the stope on the specimen leader below battery level, the leader is about four inches thick. Five head of stamps are now going on company's quartz at the Alburnia battery. - GOLD RETURNS. . Albuenia. —Sawyer and party to-day banked 36ozs 2dwts gold. Jokeb.—A crushing for Artha and party produced 2ozs lOdwts gold.
