The Worth Shore Ferry Company's steamer Tainui, owing to misapprebeuaion of orders, ran into the Enterprise at tho Aucklund Wharf, on Sunday, damuging tho atom of the Enterprise, and snapping her mast off short. The breakage of the mast arose through the Enterprise, by force of the collision, being driven bow under the wharf. The damage is estimated at from £50 to £100, which we presume the new Ferry Company will be liablo for, if they have taken over the old Company's boats. Owing to the necessity for repairing the Enterprise she will be laid up for a day or two, and will not leave Auckland for the Thames until Wednesday. The engineer of the Tainui mistook the order 11 go-astern " for " go-ahead."
We would draw the attention of produce merchants and othe.s to the sale of potatoes and cheese ex Ss»xon from Canterbury direct, which will take place at Mr McGregor's mart at 11 o'clock to-morrow. The vessel has bad a very favorable trip, making the run up in five days. The cargo is in splendid condition, and the fact of its being put on the market without reserve should attract fair competition.
