CALEDONIAN.
The reef was again broken into last Wednesday, and some nice dab 9of gold were found in the stone taken out. Since then the manager has been extending the drive and stripping the reef. The trial crushing of 20 loads at the Herald mill has been finished, and the amalgam was; retorted this afternoon. The return was 15ozs 15dwts of gold. OLD GOLDEN CALF. Some capital specimens were found in the stopes last night. The gold in them is coarse and leafy, and the stone also contains ruby silver and other good indications of gold. Fifteen head of stamps are now going on the company's quartz at the Queen of Beauty battery, and the stuff coming to hand would easily keep 20 head employed. SMILE OF FORTUNE (OWHAROA). The result of the retorting has been 5260zs of gold. GOLD RETURNS. MoANATAißi.—Nolan and party have banked 16dwts cold.
Qdeen of Beauty. — Connolly and party have banked 9ozs 15dwts gold, the result of a crushing of 7 loads at the Company's battery.
