~ In tho Tokatea good gold was got by this morning's shift in No. 7 level at a distance of 150 feet from the boundary The reef is making together, and after every shot the water makes more freely in the face. There is.now a strong show of mineral. The channel of country is get* ting similar to that in the upper workings, where such rich gold was formerly got out. The battery is rapidly, approaching completion, and will be ready for work about the time it will be required. Ten head are now hung up, and could be started in a couple of days if needed. In the Comstock no breaking down has taken place. The manager says he is preparing to send the crushing stuff' now on hand to the battery, and hasj hands engaged bagging quartz, Ac. Gold is showing in the stopes, so that when stoping is recommenced there will be more specimens broken out. The Colonial are also about lo crush, thus showing that no time is being lost by these two companies in getting stuff crushed as soon as sufficient quantity is out.
