Ouit Wellington correspondent, says: —A man name Hoderick McDonald was charged at the Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday with stealing a set of bagpipes, the propertyof a Mr MeLellau, on the 10th May last. It appears that prisoner and prosecutor: were driu&ing together, when prosecutor asked prisoner to_giv.e him a tune on-tHe pipes, which prisoner did. After playing "The Cameron Men," he .finished with thu "Rogue's March,"' and being fascinated with; the itißtrment took his departure with'the pipes. The dsfence h<*.»et up was that they were all dru.uk abjtlie .time he took them. He would have returned them had ho known prosecutor's address. But this tale did n^fc have the desired effect on the Magistrate, who ordered McDonald to undergo two months' imprisonment.
