MINING COMPANY MEETING.

The annual meeting of this company was held in Mr F. A. White's office, Auckland, yesterday afternoon, Mr C. Alexander in the chair. The shareholders present and the proxies handed in represented 5,000 shares. The fourth annual report was read. It regretted that, owing to the amount of dead work which i!; had been necessary to do iv the mine, tho balance-sheet for the year ending 31-st July showed a loss of £142710s 4d\ The directors recommended that no limit be fixed to calls, the amount to be'left to the directors to decide. The report recommended that the proposal of amalgamation with tho Albnrnia Company be not favorably received unless the terms were made more reasonable. The balance sheet was as follows :—Receipts : Cash as per ..balance sheet of ■; 31st July, 1830, £387 19s; gold and tailings, £2600 6d; from calls, £695 17s Id ; from Columbia Goldmining Company, £317 10s Id; from debtors, £64 17s 2d; total—£4o66 3s :10d.
