Since the passing of tlie Coercion Ant, Mr Forster, the Chief Secretary for Ireland has been in daily receipt of threatening letters. These took more definite form o^n July 19, when p man called at Mr Forster a residence, in Scclestown square, and insisted onseeiag him. Mr Forster was out of town, but the man being about the town all day aiid making no secret of his wish to kill the Chief Secretary on sight, was secured, by the police. A letter wbieji he had writteu to Mr Forster was found on him, bidding the Chief Secretary to release the Coercion Act prisoners and resign his office under pain ot death. The prisoner (Patrick Talfourd Hickie) 18 years of ;age, was arraigned at Bow street «ud reuiauded for it week.
