The House met at 7 30,
The Speaker said that the cloture proposals submitted by the Premier came under the operation of a Standing Ordeiv (391), which enacted that motion.? similj^ to that proposed would have to be dealt with by two thirds of the House after being on the Order Paper four sitting days.
Mr Hall said he would not,give the requisite notice of motion until it was ascertained if the Standing Order's motion ought to be considered by the Standing, Order Committee.
Sir G. Grey asked that the opinion of the law officers on the subject should be submitted to the House.
Mr Hall said Sir Geo. Grey had nothing to do with the law officer or any advice given by him to Government. Mr Pitt moved the adjournment of the House, and the stonewalling was kept up by him, Shepherd, and Seddon.
