PARLIAMENTARY GOSSIP.

[By Telechjaph.]

(FKOM OITli SPECIAL COBBESPONDENT.)

Wellington, This day. On Saturday the Standing Orders Committee met to consider the introduction of the eloture into Zealand parliamentary procedure. Ifc was argued that the Speaker was already enabled to put the eloture into operation by the power given to him to follow in matters not provided for the custom of the House of Commons, but the committee declined to assume the responsibility of adopting the innovation. The Privilege Committee appointed by the council met on Saturday, and took the evidence of Beevns and Brown in reference to the sale of honoraria by members of the Council. The report of the committee will be laid in all probability before the Council on Tuesday.
