This day

At Omata last evening there was a large meeting of settlers to consider the action of the House in regard to the harbour works. Mr Curtis occupied the chair, wheu the following resolutions were passed unanimously : —"That this meeting fully endorses the resolutions passed at the New Plymouth meetiug, and are surprised at the fiction taken by the House when it is •cou-tidnred that the high price land fetched at the Government sales was owing to die expectation of a harbour being'built at Moturoa; and this meeting also • deprecates the breach ot' faith as a most daugerous precedent."
