■/■, ■.;--. This day/: A cljerk in the post o|ffic« named Rendell beß.n.arrested ijg^jpiitrges of wholesale robbery. Nd'ont'stisp^ted him, but his wife informed the police, saying that she could not longer rest under the knowledge of his robberies. According to her ac count, he has systematically opened letters in the office, and abstracted sums of money varying from £10 downwards. When arrested, he was engaged in opening the I'ukatupa letters, and in his possession were found thirty skeleton keys, with which, his wife states, he has been in the habit of entering different shops in the town and taking out goods which he happened to want. Dinwiddie, Walker, and Co. are said to be the heaviest sufferers in . this way. He was brought up before the Resident Magistrate today, and remanded.
