Latest Coromandel Mining.
Reserve.—On Wednesday evening the manager of the Reserve reported that he had struck gold in the leader, which is about twelve inches wide, and from its course it is believed to be identical with the Home Rule lode. The shares were in strong demand, the position of the mine being all that could be desired. On Wednesday several visitors went to inspect the find, and inspected a number of stones with a -little gold showing, which had been broken out of the solid reef. The further development of this mine will be watched with interest, as there is sufficient promise to warrant the expectation that a good haul will yet be made. Tiernan's.—Work is proceeding as usual without any special change requiring mention.
Mataavai.—Tramway operations are going on as usual. The contract drive was carried in 80 feet to cut Barrett's leader. Wages men are put on to finish.
